18-inch QHD+ 240Hz gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 18 pairs an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX 24-core processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 12GB GDDR7 GPU. It ships with 64GB DDR5 memory and a 2TB PCIe SSD. The 18.0-inch WQXGA panel runs at 2560 x 1600 and 240Hz. Windows 11 Home and an Office 2021 licence are pre-installed.

Upgrade from 60Hz panels or 8-core mobile CPUs

Moving from a 60Hz display to the 240Hz panel makes motion visibly smoother in competitive titles. The jump from an 8-core mobile processor to the 24-core Ultra 9 275HX adds headroom for streaming, compiling and heavy multitasking. The RTX 5070 Ti with 12GB GDDR7 lifts frame rates at QHD+ compared with previous 8GB mobile GPUs.

Factory-sealed box opened for upgrade and test

Engineers open the original seal to install the specified memory and storage, then run a full inspection before resealing. This eliminates most factory defects but means the laptop arrives without the untouched retail seal. Buyers should verify the 64GB DDR5 and 2TB PCIe SSD configuration on first boot.

Thunderbolt 5 and HDMI 2.1 for external displays

Two Thunderbolt 5 ports and one HDMI 2.1 port drive high-refresh external monitors without adapters. Three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, an RJ-45 jack and a headphone jack cover peripherals and wired networking. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth handle wireless connectivity.

Questions about this item

What are the exact dimensions and weight of the ROG Strix Scar 18 so I can check bag or sleeve fit?

The chassis measures 15.71 x 11.73 x 0.93 inches and weighs 6.28 pounds, so an 18-inch laptop sleeve or backpack compartment with at least that depth and width will accommodate it.

How is the factory seal handled and what is the first step after unboxing before turning it on?

Engineers open the original seal to perform upgrades and testing; the first user step is to complete the Windows 11 Home out-of-box experience and install any pending driver or firmware updates from the vendor support site.

Which internal components can be upgraded later and what are the current specifications for memory and storage?

The laptop ships with 64GB of DDR5 memory and a 2TB PCIe SSD; both slots are accessible after removing the bottom panel for future capacity increases.
