ATX AM5 board with Ryzen 9 9900X3D, DDR5 to 8000 MT/s, dual USB4, Wi‑Fi 7, 5 Gbps LAN, four M.2 slots and 16+2+1 80A power stages
Model ROG STRIX X870E-H S MIKU
CPU +R9 9900X3D
This combo pairs an ASUS ROG STRIX X870E-H S MIKU motherboard with a Ryzen 9 9900X3D processor on the AM5 socket. The board supports Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 series CPUs with four DDR5 slots up to 256GB. It targets builders who want high core counts and large cache for gaming and AI workloads.
Moving from a Ryzen 7000 chip to the 9900X3D adds 128MB of L3 cache and Zen 5 architecture on a 4nm process. The X870E chipset unlocks PCIe 5.0 on the primary x16 slot and the first M.2, while 7000 series CPUs run that slot at PCIe 4.0. The jump is worth it when you need the extra cache and faster storage lanes.
Standard ATX mounting fits most cases and the board uses dual ProCool II power connectors for the 16+2+1 phase VRM rated at 80A per stage. Heatsinks cover the VRM and all four M.2 slots with thermal pads pre-applied. Common issues are forgetting the CPU power cables or not seating DDR5 modules fully until the clips click.

Other versions of this model
The board uses the standard ATX form factor and requires dual ProCool II power connectors for the 16+2+1 power solution rated at 80A per stage.
Many builders forget to update the BIOS before fitting the 120W Zen 5 CPU; without the latest firmware the system will not post.
The massive heatsinks with integrated I/O cover and high-conductivity thermal pads should be checked for dust buildup and pad degradation every 12 months.
