Product identity

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus GU605CW is a 16.0" gaming laptop built around a 240 Hz OLED panel, an Ultra 9-285H processor and a GeForce RTX 5080 GPU. It targets creators and competitive players who need colour-accurate visuals and high frame rates in a single portable chassis.

Interface limits

Thunderbolt 4 provides up to 40 Gbps of bandwidth for external GPUs, high-speed storage or dual 4K displays, but cable length and device power draw can reduce real-world throughput. WiFi 7 (802.11be) and Bluetooth 5.4 deliver lower latency and higher capacity than previous wireless standards, yet performance still depends on router capability and local spectrum congestion.

Deciding specification

The 32 GB of onboard LPDDR5X memory cannot be upgraded after purchase, so buyers must confirm that this capacity meets their multitasking and content-creation workloads before committing.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 32 GB LPDDR5X model or look for a higher capacity?

The laptop ships with 32 GB of onboard LPDDR5X memory that cannot be upgraded, so the only capacity available is the one listed.

What does the 5.4 GHz turbo figure mean once the Ultra 9-285H is inside the chassis?

The processor can reach 5.4 GHz on its performance cores for short bursts, while the 90 Wh battery and 240 W power supply sustain high clocks during heavy workloads.

How fast is the Thunderbolt 4 port in practice and what does it cap?

Thunderbolt 4 delivers up to 40 Gbps, supporting external GPUs, dual 4K displays and NVMe storage without bottlenecking the RTX 5080.
