16-inch 165 Hz gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 GU603ZM pairs a 14-core Intel Core i7-12700H with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card. A 16.0-inch WUXGA IPS-level panel runs at 165 Hz with 3 ms response and 500-nit brightness. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed on this 4.19 lb system.

24 GB DDR5 and 4 TB NVMe storage

Twenty-four gigabytes of DDR5 4800 MHz memory (8 GB soldered plus 16 GB module) handles heavy multitasking and content creation. Dual 2 TB M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe SSDs combine for 4 TB total capacity, delivering fast boot and load times. The 6 GB GDDR6 video memory on the RTX 3060 becomes the limiting factor in modern titles at high texture settings.

RTX 3060 with 6 GB GDDR6

The discrete GPU provides 6 GB of GDDR6 video memory and drives the 1920 x 1200 display at up to 165 Hz with Adaptive-Sync support. This graphics configuration suits 1080p and 1200p gaming at high refresh rates but will restrict performance in VRAM-heavy workloads or newer AAA games at ultra settings.

Questions about this item

Will the 24 GB of DDR5 4800 MHz memory be enough for modern AAA titles and heavy multitasking?

The laptop ships with 24 GB of DDR5 4800 MHz memory in a mixed 8 GB soldered plus 16 GB module configuration. That capacity handles current AAA games at high settings while leaving headroom for background apps, streaming and browser tabs.

Does the 16-inch WUXGA 165 Hz panel support a wide colour gamut for creative work?

Yes. The IPS-level display covers 100 percent DCI-P3, reaches 500 nits brightness and is Pantone Validated, so it is suitable for colour-critical photo and video editing as well as gaming.

Can the two 2 TB PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe SSDs be expanded later?

Both M.2 slots are populated with the factory 2 TB drives, so adding more storage would require replacing one of the existing modules rather than simply inserting a new drive.
