Four-node 2U barebone server

The ASUS RS720Q-E11-RS8U-3WSTEVHS fits four independent compute nodes in a 2U rackmount chassis. Each node accepts two 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors in Socket P (LGA 4677) and up to 16 DDR5 4800 RDIMM slots. The platform targets high-density workloads such as CDN, HCI and cloud deployments where maximum cores per rack unit are required. No processors or memory are installed.

PCIe 5.0 x16 slots and 10 GbE per node

Every node provides two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots (HHHL) for accelerators or high-speed networking and two 10 Gigabit LAN ports via Intel I710-AT2. Storage density includes eight front 2.5-inch hot-swap bays shared across the chassis, plus two M.2 sockets per node supporting up to 22110 form factor with SATA or Gen4 x2 link. The 3000 W 1+1 redundant 80 Plus Titanium power supply feeds all four nodes.

Check CPU cooling and memory configuration

Each node supports air cooling with EVAC heatsinks up to 270 W TDP, standard heatsinks up to 205 W, or direct liquid cooling up to 350 W. Verify your chosen processors match the supported TDP and cooling method. Memory capacity scales to 2 TB DDR5 or 4 TB with Crow Pass modules per node; populate all 16 slots with RDIMM or 3DS RDIMM. Ensure rack depth and liquid-cooling infrastructure suit the 2U form factor.
