Convertible design

The ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 is a 2-in-1 laptop built around an AMD Ryzen 7 5700U processor with 8 cores and a 4.30 GHz turbo frequency. It runs Windows 10 Home 64-bit and includes a fingerprint reader for secure sign-in. The 14.0 inch IPS touchscreen delivers a 1920 x 1080 resolution at 250 nits brightness with a glossy finish and 45% NTSC colour coverage. Integrated AMD Radeon graphics use shared system memory.

Stylus and storage

A stylus and stylus holder are included in the package, enabling direct pen input on the touchscreen for sketching or annotation. The system stores data on a 512 GB M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0x2 NVMe SSD. Memory consists of 4 GB soldered plus a 4 GB module occupying the single slot, leaving no free slots for expansion.

Home and student use

This convertible suits home users and students who want a lightweight touchscreen device for browsing, document work and media consumption with occasional pen input. Buyers who need more than 8 GB of RAM or user-upgradeable memory should look at other models. Users requiring a discrete graphics card for heavy rendering or gaming will not find that capability here.

Questions about this item

Can the 8 GB memory be expanded later if I need more RAM?

The 8 GB is configured as 4 GB onboard plus a 4 GB module in the single slot, so no further expansion is possible.

What limits performance first when the Ryzen 7 5700U runs at 4.30 GHz for long periods?

The integrated Radeon graphics share the 8 GB system memory, so sustained heavy workloads hit the memory bandwidth ceiling before the CPU thermal limit.

How loud and hot does the 14.0 inch convertible get during an all-day workload?

The thin 0.72 inch chassis and shared-memory graphics mean the fan spins up noticeably and the palmrest area warms up under continuous load.
