ASUS TUF A16 16-inch Gaming Laptop

The ASUS TUF A16 is a 16-inch gaming laptop built around an AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS processor with 8 cores and 16 threads. It pairs that CPU with a Radeon RX 7700S graphics card carrying 8GB of GDDR6 video memory. The system ships with 32GB of DDR5 memory and a 2TB PCIe SSD running Windows 11 Home.

165Hz WUXGA Display for Competitive Play

The 16.0-inch panel runs at 1920 x 1200 resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate, giving fast-motion clarity for shooters and racing titles. Buyers who need a higher resolution for content creation or a larger screen for media consumption should look at alternative models. Connectivity includes USB-A 3.2, USB-C 3.2, USB-C USB4, HDMI 2.1 FRL and RJ45 Ethernet.

Dedicated Radeon RX 7700S with 8GB GDDR6

The discrete Radeon RX 7700S with 8GB of GDDR6 memory is the specification that determines whether this laptop meets a given performance target. It delivers dedicated graphics horsepower separate from the processor’s integrated graphics, enabling higher frame rates in modern titles at the native 1920 x 1200 resolution.

Questions about this item

Will the 16.0 inch 1920 x 1200 165Hz panel work with the Radeon RX 7700S 8GB GDDR6 for smooth gaming?

Yes, the dedicated Radeon RX 7700S 8GB GDDR6 drives the 165Hz WUXGA display directly, so high-refresh gameplay runs on the discrete GPU without switching to integrated graphics.

Does the single USB-C USB4 port support an external 4K monitor while the HDMI 2.1 FRL drives the built-in 165Hz screen?

The USB-C USB4 and HDMI 2.1 FRL ports can run simultaneously, letting you connect an external display alongside the internal 16.0 inch 165Hz panel.

Is the 32GB DDR5 soldered or can I add more later?

The 32GB DDR5 is installed in the opened chassis; whether slots remain free depends on the specific memory configuration used during the upgrade.
