16-inch 165 Hz gaming laptop

The ASUS TUF A16 combines an AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS processor with a Radeon RX 7700S GPU and 8 GB of GDDR6 video memory. A 16.0-inch WUXGA display runs at 165 Hz and 1920 x 1200 resolution. The system includes 32 GB of DDR5 memory and a 1 TB PCIe SSD. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed.

Ports, connectivity and who should consider

Two USB-A 3.2 ports, one USB-C 3.2 port, one USB-C USB4 port and an HDMI 2.1 FRL output handle external displays and peripherals. Wireless uses 802.11ax Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.3; a wired RJ45 Ethernet port is included. The 720p webcam and backlit keyboard suit streamers and late-night work. Buyers needing a fingerprint reader, SD card reader or a lighter chassis should look elsewhere.

Eight-core Ryzen 7 7735HS with 4.7 GHz boost

The processor delivers eight cores and sixteen threads with a base clock of 3.20 GHz and a maximum boost of 4.7 GHz. This configuration targets gamers and creators who want strong multi-thread performance in a 16-inch form factor. The CPU choice determines whether the laptop fits your workload; verify core count and clock speeds against your software requirements before purchasing.

Questions about this item

What are the exact chassis dimensions of the 16.0 inch TUF A16?

The laptop measures 13.98 x 9.92 x 1.06 inches and weighs 4.85 pounds, so verify your bag or sleeve fits those external measurements.

How do I access the 32GB DDR5 memory and 1TB PCIe SSD for upgrades, and what step is often missed?

Remove all bottom-case screws, then gently pry the panel starting at a front corner; the step many miss is disconnecting the battery cable before touching the memory or storage slots.

When will the 720p webcam or the 802.11ax Wi-Fi module need replacement?

Both are soldered to the motherboard and not user-replaceable; if either fails after warranty, a board-level repair by a qualified technician is required.
