Ryzen 9 7940HS mobile workstation

The ASUS TUF Gaming A15 pairs an 8-core AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS processor with a GeForce RTX 4070 laptop GPU and 32GB DDR5 memory. A 15.6 inch 144 Hz Full HD panel and 4TB PCIe NVMe SSD complete a configuration built for demanding creative and gaming workloads. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed.

High-refresh creators and competitive players

The 144 Hz display and RTX 4070 8GB GDDR6 suit users who need smooth motion in fast-paced titles or GPU-accelerated rendering. Buyers who require a higher-resolution screen, a larger battery than the 90 Whr unit, or a thinner ultraportable chassis should evaluate other models.

4TB PCIe NVMe storage capacity

The single 4TB PCIe NVMe SSD determines how many large projects, game libraries and media files remain on-board without external drives. If that capacity fits the workflow the laptop is a strong candidate; if more local space is essential a different storage configuration is required.

Questions about this item

How do I upgrade the 32 GB DDR5 memory and which step is often missed?

Remove the bottom panel, insert the SODIMM module at an angle until it clicks, then secure the retention clips; the step many skip is pressing the module fully down after the click so both clips engage.

What maintenance does the 4 TB PCIe SSD require over time?

No moving parts need service; keep at least 10 % free space, run the Windows Optimize Drives tool quarterly, and monitor SMART health with the ASUS MyASUS utility.

Which limit appears first during long gaming sessions on the RTX 4070 8 GB GDDR6?

The GPU power ceiling is reached before the 90 Wh battery can sustain peak output, so clock speeds step down once the 240 W adapter hits its sustained delivery limit.
