An AMD AM4 motherboard with 8+2 DrMOS power stages, WiFi 6, 2.5 Gb LAN, dual M.2 slots with one PCIe 4.0 x4, HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.2 video outputs, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C and Type-A.
The ASUS TUF GAMING B550-PLUS WIFI II is an ATX motherboard built for AMD AM4 processors. It supports Ryzen 5000 Series, 5000 G-Series, 4000 G-Series and 3000 Series CPUs. The 8+2 DrMOS power stage design with alloy chokes and durable capacitors delivers stable current for high-core-count chips. Integrated WiFi 6 and 2.5 Gb LAN with LANGuard handle networking.
Builders moving from a 300-series chipset gain PCIe 4.0 support for graphics and one M.2 slot. The jump is worthwhile when a Ryzen 5000 processor is planned, because the stronger VRM and fanless heatsinks keep thermals in check under sustained loads. If the current system already runs a 4000 G-Series or 5000 Series CPU on a B550 board, the improvement is marginal.
Dual M.2 slots accept NVMe drives; one operates at PCIe 4.0 x4. Rear I/O includes HDMI 2.1 for 4K 60 Hz output, DisplayPort 1.2, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C and Type-A, plus a Thunderbolt 3 header. Front-panel USB 3.2 Gen 1 and an SPI TPM header are also provided. SupremeFX S1220A audio with DTS and AI noise-cancelling mic technology handles sound. DDR4 memory can reach 4866 MHz when overclocked.

The board uses an AMD AM4 socket and follows the ATX form factor, so it fits any standard ATX case with the correct standoff layout.
Update the BIOS to a version that supports Ryzen 5000 series processors before installing the CPU; otherwise the system will not post.
The VRM and PCH heatsinks are fanless, so only case fans connected to the hybrid headers require periodic cleaning or replacement.
