Micro-ATX AMD board with 8+2-phase power, PCIe 4.0, dual M.2, WiFi 6 and 2.5G LAN
The ASUS TUF GAMING B550M-PLUS WIFI II Heavy Gunner is an M-ATX board designed for AMD Ryzen processors. It targets gamers and streamers who want a cost-effective mid-range platform. The board supports DDR5 memory up to 128GB in dual-channel mode. It fits cases that accept the 12.0 by 9.6 inch form factor.
An 8+2-phase DrMOS power design and an 8-pin ProCool connector deliver stable current to flagship CPUs such as the Ryzen 9 5950X. An oversized VRM heatsink and a military-specification PCB dissipate heat during heavy loads. The layout keeps thermals in check without adding noise in normal use.
Two M.2 slots support PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs at 64Gbps and include thermal armour to sustain write speeds. Networking combines a 2.5G wired port with WiFi 6 wireless at 2.4Gbps plus Turbo LAN optimisation. Audio uses an upgraded S1200A chip with bi-directional AI noise cancellation and DTS customisation. AURA SYNC handles ARGB lighting coordination.

Connect the 8Pin ProCool cable from the PSU to the motherboard socket near the CPU; the step often missed is pressing it in until the latch clicks, otherwise the 5950X may not receive stable power.
The thermal armour and heatsink are passive; no replacement is needed, but clean dust from the fins every few months so the 64Gbps NVMe SSD and VRM stay cool.
The 2.4Gbps WiFi 6 ceiling is reached before the 2.5G wired NIC saturates, so extended transfers may throttle at the wireless interface.
