Large-screen laptop for multitasking

The ASUS VivoBook S712JA-WH54 combines a 17.3 inch Full HD IPS display with a 10th Gen Intel Core i5-1035G1 processor, 36GB DDR4 memory and a 4TB PCIe NVMe SSD. It suits office workers and students who need a big workspace and plenty of fast storage for documents, media and everyday applications. Buyers who want discrete graphics for gaming or creative rendering should look elsewhere.

Thermals and power in daily use

A 45W power supply charges the 3-cell 47 WHr battery while the integrated Intel UHD graphics keep heat output modest during typical productivity tasks. The system runs Windows 10 Home on a 60Hz non-touch panel, so fan noise stays low for web browsing, video calls and document editing. Heavy sustained loads will raise temperatures and fan speed beyond quiet operation.

Upgrades and bundled features

Velztorm opens the factory box to install the 32GB SO-DIMM alongside the 4GB onboard memory and fits the 4TB NVMe SSD, delivering the listed 36GB RAM and 4TB storage before shipment. The laptop also includes a backlit full-size keyboard with numeric keypad, fingerprint reader, 720p webcam, Wi-Fi 6 AX201, Bluetooth 5.1 and a USB 3.2 Type-C Gen1 port for modern peripherals.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 32 GB SODIMM module into the empty slot without damaging the contacts?

Power off and unplug the laptop. Remove the bottom cover screws. Align the notch on the 32 GB DDR4 SODIMM with the slot key, insert the module firmly until it seats, then press down until the retention clips lock on both sides. Reattach the cover and screws.

What maintenance will the 47 WHr battery need as it ages?

The 3-cell 47 WHr battery is internal. When runtime drops noticeably, a qualified technician can replace the pack by removing the bottom cover, disconnecting the old battery cable, and fitting a compatible 3-cell 47 WHr unit.

At what point does the 45 W power supply become the limiting factor during sustained heavy loads?

Under prolonged maximum CPU and GPU demand the 45 W adapter may not deliver enough power, causing the system to throttle performance or draw from the 47 WHr battery to maintain operation.
