Ultra-slim external DVD writer

The ASUS ZenDrive U7M is a 13mm external DVD writer finished in black with a concentric-circle hairline texture. It connects via USB to laptops or desktops that lack an internal optical drive. The compact form factor makes it easy to carry in a laptop bag for on-the-go disc access.

Sustained writing with M-DISC support

M-DISC burning technology engraves data into a rock-like layer designed to resist extreme environmental conditions. This approach maintains data integrity during long write sessions and extended archival storage. The drive handles continuous DVD writing without the thermal throttling that affects slimmer drives lacking dedicated cooling.

Replaces missing internal optical drives

This unit adds DVD reading and writing to modern ultrabooks, mini PCs and all-in-one systems that ship without an internal bay. It is not suited for users who require Blu-ray authoring or faster-than-DVD write speeds. Buyers needing dual-layer DVD-RAM support or proprietary disc formats should verify compatibility before purchase.
