Controls 16 computers from one PS/2 or USB console and daisy-chains up to 31 switches for 512-system access
The CS1716A is a 16-port KVM switch that lets administrators manage up to 16 computers from a single PS/2 or USB console. It supports both keyboard and mouse interfaces alongside video switching in a 1U rack-mountable form factor. Additional front-panel USB ports provide one-at-a-time peripheral access for each connected system.
Up to 31 additional switches can be daisy-chained to expand control to 512 computers from one console. This architecture suits growing server rooms and data centres that need centralised management without adding operator stations. The multi-platform design handles mixed PS/2 and USB hosts without requiring separate switching hardware.
The 1U chassis fits standard server racks and uses SPHD-15 connectors for keyboard, mouse and video cabling. Passive switching keeps power draw low and eliminates fan noise in quiet server environments. Front-panel USB ports remain accessible for temporary peripheral connections during maintenance.

The CS1716A is a passive KVM switch with no internal fan, so it runs silently and adds minimal heat to a rack when left on all day.
You need a single monitor with a VGA input plus a PS/2 or USB keyboard and mouse to plug into the CS1716A console ports.
Yes, the CS1716A supports PS/2 and USB target computers, so legacy PS/2-only servers connect directly using the appropriate KVM cables.
