The ATEN TECHNOLOGIES KH1508A is a 1U rack-mountable KVM extender that gives a single console control over eight directly attached computers. Through daisy-chaining up to 31 additional KVMs the system scales to 256 computers, making it suitable for dense server rooms and data-centre racks. It uses analog KVM technology with wired connectivity and includes a firmware upgrade cable, AC power cord, rack mounting kit and user manual.

Check console and cabling compatibility before

The console port accepts any combination of PS/2 and USB keyboards and mice, so verify which connector types your existing peripherals use. Each of the eight CPU modules has a permanent CAT5 cable moulded into the unit, meaning cable length is fixed and cannot be swapped for longer runs. The single VGA console port supports a maximum video resolution of 1600 x 1200 in UXGA graphic mode, so ensure your monitor can display that resolution. Eight RJ-45 network ports are provided for the computer links.
