The ATEN VE812 is a transmitter and receiver pair that carries HDMI signals over a single Cat 5e or Cat 6a cable. It connects a source device to a display up to 100 metres away using HDBaseT Class A technology. The metal housings are built for professional A/V installations in meeting rooms, home theatres or digital signage. Two power adapters and a mounting kit are included.

Suits installers needing long 4K runs

The kit works for integrators who must bridge distances beyond standard HDMI cable limits while keeping 4K resolution. It supports 4K at 60 Hz 4:2:0 up to 70 metres and 4K at 30 Hz 4:4:4 at the same distance. Installers who require 4K 60 Hz 4:4:4 over the full 100 metres should look at a different solution. Buyers needing multiple outputs or fibre-based extension will also need another product.

Handles 4K at 70 m and 1080p at 100 m

At 70 metres the extender delivers 4096 x 2160 or 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz with 4:2:0 chroma sampling, or 30 Hz with 4:4:4 sampling. Full 100 metre reach is available for 1080p signals. The link runs at a maximum data rate of 10.2 Gbps with a 340 MHz pixel clock. Beyond 70 metres the 4K 60 Hz 4:2:0 mode is no longer supported.
