2-Port 8K HDMI Switch

The ATEN VS5821 is a 2-port HDMI switch that routes two 8K sources to one display. It supports 7680 x 4320 resolution for notebooks, projectors, set-top boxes, gaming consoles, media players, monitors and computers. A pushbutton provides instant switching between the connected sources.

Check your sources and display

Verify that both source devices output HDMI signals compatible with 8K or 4K resolution. Confirm the single display accepts an HDMI input at the required resolution. Ensure you have three HDMI cables — two for the sources and one for the display — as cables are not included.

Replaces manual cable swapping

This switch replaces the need to physically unplug and reconnect HDMI cables when changing between two sources. The jump is worth it when you regularly alternate between two 8K-capable devices on one screen and want instant, button-press switching without signal degradation.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box with the VS5821 and do I need to buy HDMI cables separately?

The VS5821 includes the switch unit and a push-button for source selection. HDMI cables for the two inputs and the single output are not included and must be purchased separately.

The title lists 8K and 4K — which resolution should I pick for my setup?

The switch supports both 7680 x 4320 (8K) and 4K signals. Choose 8K if your source and display both handle 7680 x 4320; otherwise 4K sources will pass through without downscaling.

What does the 7680 x 4320 figure mean when I connect a laptop and a console to one monitor?

It means the switch can pass an 8K Ultra HD signal from either connected device to the monitor at the full 7680 x 4320 resolution, provided the source and display both support that mode.
