Cable Purpose and Audience

The AUBEAMTO PQ002 is a USB4 Gen 3x2 cable built for users who need 240 W charging, 40 Gbps data and 8K video in a single 4.92 ft link. It serves MacBook Pro owners, Samsung S22 users, eGPU builders and anyone connecting a GaN charger or docking station with full Power Delivery 3.1 support. Buyers who need longer runs or multiple display cables will need a different solution.

Build Integration and Freedoms

Male-to-male USB-C connectors make the cable bi-directional and reversible, so it plugs straight into host and device without adapters. The integrated E-marker chip negotiates Extended Power Range up to 48 V 5 A, freeing the user from carrying separate charge and data cables. It works with Thunderbolt 3 and 4 ports, docking stations and high-wattage laptops, but dual 4K monitors require two separate cables.

Sustained Load Behaviour

Under continuous use the cable delivers up to 240 W (48 V 5 A) while maintaining 40 Gbps bi-directional throughput, with real-world reads around 2.8 GB/s and writes near 2.1 GB/s. Video output sustains single 8K at 60 Hz, 6K or 5K at 60 Hz, or 4K at 120 Hz without signal drop. Actual transfer rates still depend on host and device capabilities.

Questions about this item

Does the 40 Gbps rating hold steady during long transfers or does it throttle?

The cable is rated for up to 40 Gbps with USB4 Gen 3x2 devices; real-world reads reach 2.8 GB/s and writes 2.1 GB/s, and speed depends on host and device support.

Does the cable get hot or draw extra power when running at 240 W all day?

It uses an E-marker chip to deliver up to 240 W at 48 V 5 A and is backwards compatible with 180 W, 140 W, 100 W and lower profiles.

What charger and device do I need to actually get 240 W charging?

A 240 W EPR PD 3.1 charger and a device that accepts 240 W are required; it also works with Apple 140 W chargers for MacBook Pro 16''.
