Audio-Technica AT-LP60X Turntable

The Audio-Technica AT-LP60X-BK is a fully automatic belt-drive stereo turntable designed for straightforward vinyl playback. It arrives new with a built-in switchable phono preamp for direct connection to various audio systems. The package includes a dust cover and a die-cast aluminium platter.

Ideal for new vinyl listeners and casual systems

This turntable suits anyone who wants a simple, plug-and-play setup for 33 and 45 RPM records without manual tonearm operation. The integrated cartridge and external AC adapter keep installation easy. Buyers who need adjustable tracking force, a user-replaceable cartridge or additional playback speeds should look elsewhere.

Built-in switchable phono preamp

The defining specification is the integrated phono preamp that can be toggled on or off. When engaged it lets you connect directly to line-level inputs on amplifiers, powered speakers or a computer sound card. When bypassed it allows use with an external phono stage for those who prefer a separate preamplifier.

Questions about this item

What does the >50 dB signal-to-noise ratio mean for everyday listening?

It indicates the music signal is over 50 dB louder than the turntable's own background noise, so surface hiss stays well below the music level during quiet passages.

How does the built-in switchable phono preamp affect connection options?

With the preamp on, you can plug directly into any line-level input on a stereo, powered speakers or computer; switch it off to use an external phono stage instead.

What physical space does the die-cast aluminium platter and dust cover need?

The platter sits on the main chassis and the hinged dust cover lifts vertically, so allow clearance above the unit for the cover to open fully.
