Replacement Stylus for VM95 Cartridge

The Audio-Technica AT-VMN95EN is a 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical nude replacement stylus designed for all VM95 Series cartridge assemblies. It allows owners to restore tracking performance without replacing the entire cartridge body, and it also serves as an upgrade path from the standard conical tip. Genuine factory-tested construction ensures consistent quality for vinyl playback systems.

Elliptical Tip Wear Interval

An elliptical stylus of this geometry typically reaches its wear limit after approximately 300 hours of play, which is shorter than the 500 hours expected for a conical tip or the 800 to 1000 hours quoted for Micro linear and Shibata profiles. Users should plan replacement intervals accordingly to maintain tracking accuracy and protect record grooves from excessive wear. The interchangeable design makes this swap straightforward.

Nude Elliptical 0.3 x 0.7 Mil Profile

The single specification that determines suitability is the 0.3 x 0.7 mil nude elliptical diamond profile, which sits between the conical and the higher-resolution Micro linear or Shibata options in the VM95 range. Buyers who need a finer contact geometry for reduced inner-groove distortion or extended high-frequency response should select a different stylus from the series. This tip is intended for standard elliptical performance requirements.

Questions about this item

Which VM95 cartridge does the AT-VMN95EN stylus fit?

It fits all VM95 Series cartridge assemblies, so you can replace or upgrade the stylus on any model in the range without changing the cartridge body.

How long does the 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical stylus last before replacement?

The elliptical stylus is rated for around 300 hours of play before the diamond tip wears enough to need swapping.

What does the 0.3 x 0.7 mil specification mean for tracking?

The 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical nude diamond contacts the groove with a narrower front radius, improving high-frequency tracing and reducing record wear compared with a conical tip.
