A 2.2 x 0.12 mil Microlinear replacement stylus for the AT-VM95ML cartridge, offering 23 dB channel separation and 3.5 mV output for low-distortion vinyl playback
The Audio-Technica AT-VMN95ML is a replacement stylus designed for the AT-VM95ML cartridge body. It features a 2.2 x 0.12 mil Microlinear tip mounted on a VM stereo dual magnet generator. The unit fits standard half-inch mount turntables and weighs 0.528 ounces.
The stylus tracks between 1.8 and 2.2 grams with 2.0 grams standard. Vertical tracking angle is 23 degrees. Static compliance measures 20 x 10 – 6 cm/dyne and dynamic compliance is 10 x 10 – 6 cm/dyne at 100 Hz. The cartridge requires a load impedance of 47,000 ohms and a load capacitance of 100 to 200 pF.
This Microlinear stylus replaces worn conical or elliptical tips on the same VM95 body, delivering improved channel separation of 23 dB and output channel balance of 1.5 dB. The jump is worthwhile when records show excessive inner-groove distortion or when a flatter frequency response up to 25,000 Hz is desired. It is not for users needing a moving coil output or a different mount standard.

The 2.2 x 0.12 mil Microlinear tip traces grooves more precisely than conical or elliptical shapes, reducing distortion and improving channel separation to 23 dB for clearer high-frequency detail.
At 3.5 mV this moving-magnet cartridge delivers a healthy signal that most phono stages expect, so you can set gain near the middle of its range without adding noise or running out of headroom.
The cartridge is designed for the standard 47 kΩ phono input; matching this value ensures the specified 20–25,000 Hz frequency response and 1.5 dB channel balance are achieved in practice.
