USB-C to USB-A adapter cable 2-pack

This pack provides two short cables that convert a USB-C port into a standard USB-A socket. They let you connect flash drives, keyboards, mice, hubs and other legacy peripherals to newer laptops, tablets and phones. The 12 cm length keeps the link tidy on a desk or in a bag. Buyers who need a longer reach or a right-angle plug should look elsewhere.

Thermals noise and power draw

The adapters are passive devices with no active electronics, so they generate no measurable heat and produce no audible noise. They draw only the negligible power required for the USB handshake and the attached peripheral. No external power supply or driver installation is required for normal operation.

Bundled accessories and software

The package contains exactly two identical adapter cables and no additional software, drivers or documentation. The aluminium shells and nylon-braided leads are rated for over 20,000 insertion cycles, which reduces cable fatigue during frequent connect and disconnect cycles. No carrying pouch or cable ties are included.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the 12cm USB-C male to USB 3.0 female adapter to my MacBook Pro 2019 without blocking the adjacent port?

Insert the USB-C male plug straight into the MacBook Pro 2019 port; the short 12cm cable lets the female end sit beside the laptop so the next port stays free.

When should I replace the adapter if the nylon braid frays or the aluminium shell dents after many insertions?

The adapter is rated for 20000+ insertion cycles; replace it only if the braid exposes wires, the shell deforms enough to affect the fit, or data drops below 5Gbps.

What is the first limit I will hit when copying large video files continuously through the 5Gbps USB 3.0 link?

Sustained throughput is capped at the USB 3.0 5Gbps specification, so the bus itself becomes the bottleneck before the cable or connectors do.
