AX900 USB Wi-Fi 6 Adapter for Windows PCs

The AUTYUE USB adapter adds Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 to desktops or laptops running Windows 7, 10 or 11. It connects through a standard USB port and installs its driver automatically on Windows 10 and 11 without a disc. The compact black dongle measures 1.2 by 0.4 by 0.2 inches and weighs 10g.

Practical limits of USB Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4

Peak wireless rates reach 600Mbps on the 5GHz band and 287Mbps on 2.4GHz, but real throughput depends on router capability, channel width and interference. MU-MIMO helps serve several clients at once, yet total bandwidth is shared across all connected devices. Bluetooth 5.4 offers low-latency links to peripherals such as headphones, mice and keyboards with a typical range around 20 metres.

Windows-only compatibility decides suitability

This adapter does not support Mac, Linux, ChromeOS, TV or car systems, so buyers needing cross-platform wireless must choose a different device. WPA3 encryption and AP mode are available on supported Windows versions, allowing the host PC to share a wired connection as a hotspot.

Questions about this item

Is the AX900 rating a single speed or a combined figure?

The AX900 rating combines the two bands. The 5 GHz band reaches up to 600 Mbps and the 2.4 GHz band up to 287 Mbps, giving the combined 900 Mbps total.

What real-world throughput can I expect on the 5 GHz band in a typical home?

The 5 GHz band is rated at 600 Mbps. Actual throughput will be lower due to overhead, distance and interference, but Wi-Fi 6 with MU-MIMO helps maintain higher average speeds when multiple devices are active.

Does the USB interface limit the 600 Mbps 5 GHz speed?

The adapter uses a USB connection. The 600 Mbps figure is the wireless link rate; the USB bus and driver overhead will reduce the maximum data rate you see in practice.
