This AUTYUE adapter upgrades a desktop or laptop to Wi-Fi 5 AC1300 speeds through a USB 3.0 port. It delivers up to 867 Mbps on the 5 GHz band and 400 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. Dual 2 dBi antennas rotate 180° for flexible positioning. The stick measures 2.75 x 1.46 x .39 inches and weighs 1.13 ounces.

Compatibility and limits

It supports 32-bit and 64-bit Windows from XP through 11 and Mac OS 10.9 to 11.15, plus Linux kernels. Plug-and-play installation works on most systems. Buyers who need a Bluetooth radio or a dedicated PCIe wireless card should look at something else.

Deciding specification

The USB 3.0 interface provides up to ten times the throughput of USB 2.0, which is the single figure that determines whether this adapter can sustain its rated AC1300 wireless performance.

Questions about this item

Will the USB 3.0 interface on this adapter work with my older desktop that only has USB 2.0 ports?

Yes, the adapter is compatible with USB 2.0 ports, though transfer speeds will be limited to USB 2.0 rates rather than the full USB 3.0 potential.

How can I verify the dual-band antennas are delivering the stated 867Mbps on 5 GHz and 400Mbps on 2.4 GHz after installation?

Run a speed test while connected to each band separately; the 5 GHz link should approach 867Mbps and the 2.4 GHz link up to 400Mbps under good signal conditions.

Does the package include a driver disc, or must I download drivers separately for Windows 10 or Mac OS 10.15?

The adapter uses plug-and-play installation on supported systems including Windows 10 and Mac OS 10.9-11.15, so no separate driver disc or download is required.
