Converts Wii and Wii U analogue video to HDMI with NTSC 480i, 480p and PAL 576i support, plug-and-play operation and an on/off switch
This AVer Media converter connects Nintendo Wii and Wii U consoles to modern displays using HDMI. It accepts the consoles native analogue YPbPr output and converts it to a digital HDMI signal. The unit is powered through USB and includes an on/off switch for standby power saving.
The adapter supersedes the original red-white-yellow or red-green-blue cables that shipped with the console. The upgrade is worthwhile when the television or monitor lacks legacy inputs or when a single HDMI connection simplifies the signal chain. It does not upscale or enhance the source material beyond the console maximum output.
No drivers or software are required; connect the converter to the console multi-out port, attach the HDMI and USB cables, then select the correct HDMI input on the display. Common issues include leaving the console set to 480i instead of 480p, forgetting to switch the TV input, or using the adapter with unsupported consoles.

It takes component and composite from the Wii and sends HDMI to the TV or monitor.
Plug the Wii cables in, connect the HDMI cable to the display, attach the USB power cable, then set the TV to the HDMI input.
No scheduled maintenance; just keep the ports clean and replace the USB or HDMI cable if either wears out.
