RCA to HDMI conversion for legacy sources

The AVer R18 converts composite RCA video and stereo audio into an HDMI 1.3 signal at 1080p or 720p. It accepts PAL, NTSC 3.58, NTSC 4.43, SECAM, PAL/M and PAL/N formats. The unit is designed for owners of PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox, N64, VHS, VCR, DVD or set-top boxes who want to display them on a modern HDMI screen.

USB-powered adapter with included cables

The converter draws 5 V 1 A from a micro-USB port and ships with a USB cable, an HDMI cable and the converter itself. No internal power supply is built in, so a separate 5 V 1 A USB charger or powered port is required. The compact 20 cm form factor keeps cabling tidy behind a TV or capture device.

1080p ceiling and analogue-only input

Output tops out at 1080p; 4K, 3D and HDR are not supported. The single composite input means only one source can be connected at a time, and component or S-Video sources cannot be used. Buyers needing multiple simultaneous inputs or higher resolutions will need a different solution.

Questions about this item

What resolution ceiling appears first when the AVer R18 runs continuously?

The converter caps output at 1080p, so sustained use never exceeds that resolution.

How much heat or noise does the unit produce during all-day operation?

It has no fan and draws only 5 V 1 A via USB, so heat and noise stay negligible.

Which power source must the buyer already have for the converter to work?

A 5 V 1 A USB supply is required; the box includes the cable but not the adapter.
