Folding Palette for Mixed Media

The Avery SUNIY-B folding paint tray offers 33 compartments in a white plastic body that folds to 26 x 13.5 x 2.1 cm and opens to 26 x 27 x 1.1 cm. It suits artists, students and hobbyists working with watercolour, oil, tempera, gouache or acrylic who want a single surface for storage and mixing. A thumbhole and five brush holes let right- or left-handed painters hold the palette and keep tools ready while working.

Thermals Noise and Power

As a passive plastic tray it generates no heat, draws no power and makes no sound during use. The material withstands normal studio temperatures without warping and the lid helps retain paint moisture between sessions. No active cooling or external supply is required.

Accessories Change Workflow

The package includes only the palette itself; no paints, brushes or cleaning tools are supplied. The 28 slanted wells and five central reservoirs let you separate or blend up to 12 colours at once. Folded dimensions of 26 x 13.5 x 2.1 cm fit a bag or pocket, though the lid is noted as not easy to close, so transport with care.

Questions about this item

How do I unfold the 26 x 13.5 x 2.1 cm folded tray to the full 26 x 27 x 1.1 cm size without cracking the hinge?

Lay the folded palette flat, grip both long edges near the centre hinge, and pull the halves apart in one smooth motion until the two 26 cm sides lie flush; the note warns the lid is not easy to close, so do not force the joint past its natural stop.

Which parts of the 33-compartment tray will wear first and need replacing?

The plastic hinge and the five brush-holder holes see the most stress; repeated folding fatigues the thin hinge wall, and brush ferrules gradually widen the smallest hole until brushes sit loose.

At what point does the lid stop keeping 12 colours moist during a long session?

Because the lid does not seal tightly, evaporation becomes noticeable after roughly two hours in warm air; mist the wells or cover the tray with cling film if you need longer working time.
