Two-Pack Boom Arm Tripod Stands
The Avid TS186D supplies two black floor microphone stands with adjustable boom arms. Each unit extends from 28.1 inches to 89.8 inches and collapses into the included 19.5 by 8.3 inch carrying bag. The 3/8 to 5/8 inch adapter fits common microphones such as the Blue Yeti, Shure SM58 and Samson Q2U.
Steel Construction Stability
Thickened steel poles give each stand a weight of 4.091 kilograms for a low centre of gravity that resists tipping on stage or in a home studio. No moving parts generate noise and no power is required. The spray-paint finish protects the metal during frequent transport and outdoor use.
Replaces Single Light Stands
This two-pack replaces buying two separate lightweight tripods that can tip under heavier microphones. The upgrade is worth it when you need simultaneous placement for interviews, duets or stereo recording. It does not suit desktop mounting or permanent ceiling installations.

Questions about this item
How do I attach the boom arm and set the height without the stand tipping?
Extend the three steel tripod legs fully, lock each knob, then insert the boom arm into the top tube and tighten its collar before raising the centre column from 28.1 to 89.8 inches; the 4.0 kg base weight keeps it stable once the legs are wide.
Which parts will need checking or replacing after months of gigs?
The height-locking knobs, boom-arm extension clamps and the 3/8" to 5/8" thread adapter see the most wear; inspect their threads and plastic grips periodically and replace any that strip or crack.
At what boom-arm extension does the microphone start to droop under sustained use?
The arm extends from 16 to 30 inches; pushing it toward the 30-inch mark with a heavy mic like an SM58 is where gravity first overcomes the friction locks and causes gradual sag.
