The unit provides eight serial ports for direct device connectivity and includes a built-in analog modem for fallback access. Its architecture supports integration into existing management frameworks without requiring proprietary client software.

Questions about this item

Which ACS 8000 console server version provides 8 ports with dual AC power and a built-in modem?

The ACS8008MDAC-400 model is the 8-port Advanced Console Server that includes dual AC power supplies and an integrated analog modem for out-of-band access.

How does the dual AC power design benefit the ACS 8000 when installed in a rack or tower?

Dual AC supplies let the unit stay online if one feed fails, so remote serial console sessions remain active during power maintenance or a circuit outage.

What does the analog modem connection cap in practice for remote management?

The built-in analog modem provides a fallback dial-up path limited to standard telephone line speeds, ensuring basic CLI access when the primary network is down.
