John Paul Jones Alembic Replica

This miniature replica reproduces the Alembic 8-string bass John Paul Jones played during the 1975 sessions for the 1976 Presence album. It is a 1:4 scale collectible made from solid wood with metal tuning keys and measures approximately 10 inches in length. The piece weighs about 14 ounces and arrives in a foil-stamped gift box with an adjustable A-frame display stand included.

Collectors and display buyers

The replica suits Led Zeppelin enthusiasts, instrument collectors and anyone wanting a detailed decorative piece for a shelf or music room. It is not playable, so musicians looking for a functioning miniature bass or a practice instrument should look elsewhere. The fixed 1:4 scale also means it will not match larger display collections built around different proportions.

Space and handling check

Verify you have a display area at least 11.75 inches wide, 4.5 inches deep and 1.25 inches high to accommodate the supplied case. The solid-wood construction makes the item heavier than plastic miniatures, so ensure the shelf or surface can support 14 ounces securely. No assembly is required beyond placing the replica on its included stand.

Questions about this item

Does the 1:4 scale replica need any extra hardware to sit on its included A-frame stand?

No. The solid-wood miniature arrives with its own adjustable A-frame stand, so it displays immediately on any flat surface.

Will the 10-inch collectible look out of place next to full-size Alembic basses in a display cabinet?

Its 1:4 proportions and hand-finished details mirror the original instrument, so it complements full-size models without clashing.

How can I verify the JP-920 matches the bass used on the 1976 Presence sessions?

The silver-foil-stamped gift box and John Paul Jones signature branding confirm it as the authorised 8-string Alembic replica.
