Axiom 10GBASE-SR XFP Transceiver switch module

SKU CH-50KE-VCMB8

A 10GBASE-SR XFP transceiver module for short-range fibre links

  • 10 Gbps XFP transceiver for high-speed network links
  • range multimode fibre connectivity
  • Hot-pluggable module enables live network changes
  • Standard XFP form factor fits compatible switch slots

Axiom 10GBASE-SR XFP Transceiver

This Axiom transceiver module provides a 10 Gigabit Ethernet link over multimode fibre. It uses the XFP form factor and operates to the 10GBASE-SR standard for short-range connections. Network engineers deploy it in compatible switches and routers to link aggregation layers or server uplinks within a data centre.

Sustained 10 Gbps throughput

The module maintains line-rate 10 Gbps throughput under continuous load without throttling. Optical components are rated for the full 10GBASE-SR reach on OM3 or OM4 fibre. It is not suited for single-mode fibre runs or longer distances that require LR, ER or ZX optics.

Questions about this item

How much power does the 10GBASE-SR XFP transceiver draw when running continuously?

The module operates within the standard XFP power envelope for 10 Gb/s short-reach optics, so a compatible switch slot supplies the required wattage without an external adapter.

What equipment must I already have to use this Axiom XFP transceiver?

You need a switch or router with an open XFP cage that supports 10GBASE-SR optics and a multimode fibre patch cord with LC connectors.
