The transceiver slides into any standard SFP+ port that accepts 10Gbase-T modules, freeing the user from fibre patch cords and the associated optics. It requires a host device that explicitly lists 10Gbase-T compatibility in its SFP+ slots and a Cat6a or better copper run to reach the rated distance.
