  • SFP+ form factor fits standard switch and HBA slots
  • LC duplex interface ensures reliable fibre connectivity

16GBASE-SW SFP+ Transceiver

The Axiom AXG98266 is a 16GBASE-SW SFP+ transceiver designed for short-range fibre-channel links. It targets network engineers and data-centre operators who need a hot-pluggable module for 16 GBps connections over multimode fibre.

16 GBps capacity and 100 m reach

The module delivers a 16 GBps data rate using an 850 nm wavelength over LC duplex interfaces. It comfortably handles links up to 100 m on OM3 or OM4 multimode fibre. Beyond that distance the optical budget is exceeded and a long-range module is required.

Finisar compatibility and LC interface

The transceiver is coded for Finisar equipment, ensuring recognition and monitoring on supported switches. The LC duplex connector provides a standard physical interface for patch cables. No additional software or cables are bundled with the module.

Questions about this item

Will the 16 GBps SFP+ module work in my existing 8G Fibre Channel switch ports?

The module is built for 16Gb Fibre Channel links; compatibility with 8G ports depends on the switch vendor’s speed-negotiation implementation.

How can I confirm the 850 nm transceiver is operating correctly after installation?

Check the switch port statistics for a clean 16Gb Fibre Channel link, zero CRC errors and a received optical power level within the vendor’s specified range.

Does the LC-duplex transceiver ship with patch cables or must I order OM3/OM4 fibre separately?

Only the transceiver itself is included; LC duplex patch cords of the appropriate multimode grade must be purchased separately.
