Axiom BK835A-AX 10G dual-port SFP+ PCIe x8 network card

SKU CH-GC08-KJHBC MPN BK835A-AX

Dual-port 10 GbE SFP+ card adds two fibre links via a PCIe 2.0 x8 slot

  • Product weight0.24
  • Dual 10 Gb ports boost server throughput
  • PCIe 2.0 x8 host interface fits standard slots
  • Two SFP+ cages accept optical fibre modules
  • Low-profile 6.5" × 2.7" form factor saves space
  • Three-year limited warranty protects the investment

Dual-port 10G SFP+ server NIC

The Axiom BK835A-AX adds two 10GBase-X optical ports to a server through a PCI Express 2.0 x8 slot. It targets administrators who need fibre connectivity for storage or clustering without replacing the host platform.

Sustained 10G throughput on both ports

Each SFP+ cage runs at line rate so long as the host can feed the x8 lane. The card stays in the data path without throttling because it draws power only from the slot and has no onboard controller that would introduce latency under load.

Low-profile plug-in card for dense chassis

At 6.5 by 2.7 by 0.5 inches and 3.84 oz the bracket fits 1U and blade servers where full-height cards cannot sit. The two cages accept standard SFP+ optics so you choose the reach and fibre type per link.

Questions about this item

How much heat and power should I expect from the BK835A-AX running 10GBase-X traffic all day?

The card draws power from the PCI Express 2.0 x8 slot and has no onboard fan, so heat output stays low in a server chassis with normal airflow.

Which SFP+ transceivers and cables do I need to have on hand before the dual-port card will link up?

You must supply two SFP+ modules or direct-attach cables that match your fibre type and distance; the card itself only provides the SFP+ cages.

Will the BK835A-AX fit and function in an older server that only has PCI Express 2.0 x8 slots?

Yes, the card is designed for PCI Express 2.0 x8 and its 6.5" by 2.7" plug-in form factor fits standard low-profile server brackets.
