The Axiom C3N53AA-AX is a 10 Gbps SFP+ transceiver built for multi-mode fibre networks. It targets IT teams adding 10 Gigabit uplinks to switches or servers that accept SFP+ modules. The module operates at 850 nm wavelength over MMF cabling. It is supplied new and pre-configured for OEM compatibility.

IEEE 802.3 standard reach limits

The transceiver follows IEEE 802.3, 802.3u and 802.3ab standards for 10GBASE-SR signalling. Multi-mode fibre reach is defined by those standards and varies with fibre grade and modal bandwidth. Typical SR distances reach up to a few hundred metres on OM3 or OM4 cable. Longer runs require different optics or single-mode fibre.

10 Gbps capacity and thermal range

The module delivers a fixed 10 Gbps line rate with no speed negotiation below that rate. It operates reliably from 0 °C to 70 °C, covering standard data-centre and wiring-closet environments.
