Dual-port 10GBase-X server NIC

This Axiom network card adds two SFP+ optical ports to a server through a PCI Express 2.0 x8 slot. It targets administrators who need 10 Gb fibre uplinks for storage or virtualisation clusters.

Two SFP+ cages for fibre uplinks

Each cage accepts a 10GBase-X transceiver, giving two independent 10 Gb links. The x8 Gen 2 interface supplies enough bandwidth for both ports at line rate, while a single x4 slot would limit aggregate throughput.

Full-height and low-profile brackets included

The 6.5 by 2.7 inch plug-in card weighs 3.84 oz and fits standard server chassis. Swappable brackets let the same board serve full-height or half-height slots without extra hardware.

Questions about this item

Will the PCI Express 2.0 x8 interface on this Axiom OCE11102-FM card work in an older server that only has PCIe 2.0 slots?

Yes, the card uses a PCI Express 2.0 x8 host interface, so it is electrically compatible with PCIe 2.0 slots and will negotiate at that speed.

How can I verify both 10GBase-X SFP+ ports are linked correctly after installing the card?

Check the port LEDs on the bracket for link and activity indication, then confirm each interface shows a 10 Gbps connection in the operating system network settings or switch port status.

Does the box include SFP+ transceivers or fibre cables, or must I buy them separately?

The package contains the Emulex dual-port card plus full-height and half-height mounting brackets only; SFP+ optical modules and fibre patch cables are not included and must be purchased separately.
