  • Fiber modeSingle-mode Optical Fiber
  • Maximum range10km
  • HighlightsData-rate: 1000BASE-LX Form-factor: SFP Connector: LC Compli
  • 10km reach over single-mode fibre at 1310nm wavelength
  • 1000BASE-LX data rate for Gigabit Ethernet links
  • SFP MSA compliant for broad platform interoperability
  • RoHS compliant and IEEE 802.3z standard adherence
  • LC duplex connector in standard SFP form factor

Targeted network link

This Axiom SFP transceiver delivers a 1000BASE-LX connection over single-mode optical fiber. It is built for network administrators who need a standards-compliant module to link switches or routers across campus or metro distances.

Compatibility assurance

The module follows the SFP multi-source agreement and carries RoHS and IEEE 802.3z compliance. Unique serialization on every unit prevents address conflicts and simplifies inventory tracking in mixed-vendor environments.

Distance headroom

Rated for 10 km reach at 1310 nm wavelength, it handles building-to-building or floor-to-floor runs with margin to spare. Links beyond that range or multi-mode cabling plants fall outside its design envelope.

Questions about this item

Will the LC connector or the 1310 nm laser need periodic cleaning or replacement?

The LC connector should be inspected and cleaned with a lint-free swab before each mating; the 1310 nm laser is solid-state and has no user-replaceable parts.

At 10 km on single-mode fibre, what limits link budget first — attenuation or dispersion?

Attenuation is the primary limit; 1000BASE-LX at 1310 nm over 10 km stays well within the chromatic-dispersion allowance for standard single-mode fibre.

How much heat does the module add to a switch chassis running continuously?

As an SFP MSA compliant 1000BASE-LX transceiver it draws under 1 W, adding minimal heat to the host system.
