Ultra-rugged cordless scanner for manufacturing

The DS3678-DP is an ultra-rugged cordless barcode scanner built for manufacturing plants. It reads 1D and 2D codes from direct part marks such as dot peen, chemical etch, laser etch, ink, inkjet mold, cast or thermal spray marks. It also captures codes displayed on screens or printed on labels in practically any condition.

Bluetooth range and cradle power constraints

The scanner connects via Bluetooth to its included cradle which uses a shielded USB cable for host communication and charging. Wireless range is limited by the Bluetooth link and physical obstructions on the factory floor. The cradle requires the supplied 12 V 50 W power unit to operate and charge the scanner.

Replaces tethered or less rugged scanners

This kit replaces tethered scanners that restrict worker movement or less rugged units that fail under vibration and harsh marking conditions. The jump is worth it when operators need freedom of movement combined with reliable capture of challenging direct part marks on metal, plastic or coated surfaces.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the cordless DS3678-DP or a tethered 3600 series scanner?

The DS3678-DP is a cordless ultra-rugged model with Bluetooth and a cradle, while the 3600 series includes tethered variants; choose cordless if workers need freedom of movement across the plant.

What does the ultra-rugged rating mean for daily use on a factory floor?

Ultra-rugged means the scanner survives repeated drops, vibration and harsh industrial environments, so it keeps reading 1D and 2D codes after impacts that would damage standard devices.

Does the included USB cable and cradle limit the scanner to USB speeds?

The kit supplies a shielded USB cable and cradle for wired charging and host communication; Bluetooth handles wireless scanning, so USB bandwidth only applies during cradled data transfer.
