FX870 charging base purpose

The Babyliss Pro FX870 Silver Charging Base is a dedicated docking station designed for owners of the FX870 clipper who want a stable place to charge their tool between cuts. It replaces the loose cable on a workstation with a fixed contact point that keeps the clipper upright and ready.

Solid metal base and knurled grips

A weighted metal base adds mass so the dock stays planted when the clipper is lifted one-handed. Knurled metal grips on the sides give a tactile hold for repositioning the base on a busy barbershop counter without slipping.

Adapter not included constraint

The unit ships without a power adapter and relies on the existing FX870 clipper cable to supply current. Buyers who have lost or damaged their original clipper cable will need to source a replacement before this base can function.

Questions about this item

Does the FX870 charging base need any parts replaced over time?

The base has no moving components or consumable parts; it only provides a contact surface for the clipper, so nothing on the base itself requires periodic replacement.

What stops the FX870 base from charging continuously during all-day use?

The base relies on the clipper's own battery management; once the clipper reaches full charge the circuit stops drawing current, so the base simply remains idle without overheating.

How much heat or noise does the FX870 base produce when left plugged in all day?

The solid metal base stays cool to the touch and is completely silent because it contains no fan, transformer or active electronics — only passive contacts for the clipper cable.
