Baldor Electric

Baldor Electric VL3514 Motor 1-1/2 HP 1725 RPM 115/230V 56C

SKU CH-J6V7-875ET

Single-phase capacitor-start motor delivers 1.5 hp at 1725 rpm on 115/230 V with 56C frame for continuous duty

  • Product typeElectrical
  • 1-1/2 hp output drives demanding loads
  • Capacitor-start/run design gives strong starting torque
  • Dual 115/230 V wiring suits common supplies
  • 56C frame fits standard mounting patterns
  • Totally enclosed fan-cooled enclosure resists dust and moisture

Motor type and target use

The Baldor Electric VL3514 is a general-purpose single-phase motor built around a capacitor-start/run design. It suits workshop machinery, pumps or fans that need continuous duty in ambient temperatures up to 40 °C.

Capacity and headroom

Rated at 1-1/2 hp with a nameplate speed of 1 800 RPM and a 1.15 service factor, it delivers 6.1 A at full load on 115/230 V 60 Hz supplies and is usable at 208 V but not at 200 V. The totally enclosed fan-cooled 56C frame provides reliable operation within those voltage limits.

Upgrade path and fit

The motor replaces older single-speed units that lack dual-voltage flexibility or a 1.15 service factor. The jump is worthwhile when an application demands CW/CCW rotation reversibility, Class F insulation and NEMA Design L performance in a 56C footprint.

Questions about this item

Will the 56C frame motor bolt onto my existing pump mounting plate?

The 56C frame follows the standard NEMA mounting pattern, so it will match any 56C plate you already have.

How do I confirm the motor is running correctly after wiring it for 230 V?

Measure the running current; it should read near 6.1 A at full load with the nameplate showing 1725 RPM.

Does the box include a capacitor or mounting bolts, or do I need to buy them separately?

The motor ships as a complete capacitor-start/run unit; mounting bolts and any external start components are not included.
