Hands-free sensor operation

Each unit uses infrared motion sensing to open the lid within .3 seconds of a hand wave and closes automatically after 5 seconds of inactivity. The mechanism runs on two AA batteries, which are not included. The white plastic body measures 10.1L*5.4W*11.38H Inch and holds 7.5 litres.

Bathrooms and compact spaces

The IPX5 waterproof rating makes the bin suitable for humid rooms such as bathrooms, while the slim profile fits kitchens, bedrooms, offices, dorms and RVs. Buyers who need a larger capacity or a bin without battery dependence should look at something else.

Battery and bag preparation

Verify you have AA batteries available for each can before ordering. Check that standard 2-gallon trash bags fit the removable inner ring that holds them in place. Ensure the installation surface is flat so the sensor can detect motion reliably.

Questions about this item

Do I need to supply my own 2 AA batteries for each of the three cans?

Yes, every can in the 3-pack runs on 2 AA batteries that are not included.

Will the infrared sensor still open the lid if I keep the bin near my older pedal-operated trash can?

The sensor reacts to hand motion above the lid within 0.3 seconds regardless of other bins nearby.

How can I confirm the soft-close mechanism is working correctly after I put in the batteries?

Wave your hand to open the lid, wait 5 seconds without further motion, and the lid should shut gently and quietly on its own.
