Product and Purpose

The Baldwin DZ-8 magnetic fluorescent light covers come in a two-pack of light gray rectangular panels. Each cover measures 48 by 24 inches and is designed to fit standard ceiling fixtures in indoor settings such as offices, classrooms, hospitals and homes. The covers attach directly to the fixture frame using integrated magnets.

What the Magnets Change

Ten magnets per cover provide a firm hold on the metal frame, allowing installation without tools or fasteners. The oxford fabric material is waterproof and heat-resistant, so the covers will not burn or degrade from fixture heat. The patterned surface reduces harsh glare and softens the light output, helping to relieve eye strain and headaches during extended work or study sessions.

Who This Suits and Who Should Look Elsewhere

Buyers who want a quick, tool-free way to diffuse fluorescent lighting in standard 48 by 24 inch fixtures will find these covers effective. They are not suited for fixtures with non-magnetic frames, for openings other than the stated dimensions, or for anyone requiring a permanent hard-mounted diffuser.

Questions about this item

How often will the magnetic light covers need replacing?

The covers are made from waterproof, heat‑resistant oxford fabric that is non‑flammable, so they do not wear out from heat exposure and only need replacing if physically damaged.

What limits continuous use of the fluorescent light covers?

There is no operational limit; the magnets hold the .1 in thick fabric panels securely to the ceiling frame for as long as the light fixture runs.

Do the covers add heat, noise or power draw when the lights stay on all day?

The passive fabric adds no power draw, makes no noise and does not trap heat because the oxford material is heat‑resistant and non‑flammable.
