The Baldwin Filters B178 is a full-flow spin-on oil filter built for automotive and equipment engines. It fits Audi, BMW, Dodge, Porsche and Volkswagen vehicles as well as Bobcat, Deutz, Ingersoll-Rand and Vermeer machinery. The 3/4"-16 thread allows direct installation on compatible filter heads.
18 micron rating and 30 psid bypass valve
The filter media captures particles down to 18 micron while maintaining flow under normal pressure. A 30 psid bypass valve opens if the element becomes restricted, ensuring lubrication continues during cold starts or heavy contamination. The anti-drainback valve retains oil in the filter after shutdown for faster pressure build-up on restart.
Replaces canister or cartridge filters on listed
This spin-on unit replaces older canister or cartridge-style filters where the housing and thread match the 3/4"-16 specification. The change is worth it when service speed matters, because the self-contained canister removes in one step without draining a separate housing.
