The Baldwin BF785 is a spin-on fuel filter rated at 15 micron for secondary filtration duties. It fits diesel engines and equipment that call for this thread specification. The cartridge includes an integral gasket and integral post seal for a complete seal in one piece. It is not suited for primary filtration stages or applications that demand a finer micron rating.

Consistent flow under continuous operation

The element maintains its 15 micron capture efficiency throughout the service interval rather than only when new. Pleat geometry and media area are sized to resist premature restriction as contaminant loads build. The integral post seal prevents bypass even when pressure differential rises under sustained flow. It will not compensate for a worn lift pump or restricted upstream lines.

Straightforward spin-on replacement

Installation requires only hand tightening on the 1 1/16 In.-16 thread after lubricating the gasket. The integral gasket eliminates loose washers that can fall into the housing or be forgotten. Common errors include over-torquing the canister, which distorts the seal, and reusing the old filter when the gasket has taken a set. The single-piece design reduces the chance of missing components during a roadside change.
