Compact sun and rain shield

The BAODINI 8516 is a manual open umbrella with a clear canopy that provides UPF 50+ protection. It suits anyone wanting a lightweight barrier against sun or light rain that stores in a purse or pocket.

Practical limits of the 40 inch arc

The canopy spans a 40 inch arc and 35.4 inch diameter when open, covering one person. The six fiberglass ribs resist gentle breezes but the design is not built for heavy wind, so the frame may invert in strong gusts.

Check your carry space and weather needs

Verify that a folded length of 6.9 inches and weight of 8.6 oz fit your bag or pocket. Confirm that sun protection and light rain cover are your main needs, as this model is not intended for storm conditions.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 40-inch arc version or a larger size?

The 40-inch arc canopy gives a 35.4-inch diameter when open, covering one person. It folds to 6.9 inches and weighs 8.6 ounces, so it fits in a purse or pocket.

What does the UPF 50+ rating mean for daily use?

The black glue inner layer reflects most UV rays and the black underside coating absorbs the rest, delivering UPF 50+ protection against sun exposure.

How does the manual open mechanism and six fiberglass ribs perform in wind?

The manual open-close action is operated by hand. Six reinforced fiberglass ribs provide flexibility in gentle breezes, but the umbrella is not designed for heavy wind.
