MMCX to IE40 Pro Adapter

This Barrow Mods accessory converts an MMCX female cable termination to a male IE40 Pro connector, letting owners of Sennheiser IE40 Pro in-ear monitors use cables fitted with standard MMCX plugs. The pair of adapters is a simple plug-and-play solution for swapping or upgrading the stock cable without soldering. It suits audiophiles and stage musicians who want to keep their existing MMCX cable inventory while using IE40 Pro earpieces.

Swappable Cable Users

The adapter is built for listeners who already own MMCX-terminated cables and want to connect them to IE40 Pro earpieces. It does not help buyers whose cables use 2-pin, recessed 2-pin or any proprietary connector, nor does it work with earpieces that require a different socket type. Anyone needing a direct replacement cable rather than a converter should look at dedicated IE40 Pro cables instead.

MMCX Female to IE40 Pro Male

The single deciding specification is the connector pairing: one end presents an MMCX female socket while the other end provides a male IE40 Pro plug. Only cables fitted with MMCX plugs can be used; other connector types will not mate with this adapter.

Questions about this item

Will the adapter add noticeable hiss or power loss when used all day with sensitive IEMs?

The passive MMCX-to-IE40Pro connector has no active circuitry, so it introduces no noise floor or voltage drop during extended listening sessions.

What cable termination must I already own to plug into the MMCX female side?

You need a cable terminated with a standard MMCX male connector; the adapter’s female socket accepts that plug directly.

Can I keep using my older Shure or Campfire cables that have MMCX plugs?

Yes, the MMCX female socket is compatible with Shure, Campfire, 64Audio, Vision Ear, InEar, Oriolus and other MMCX-terminated cables.
