Compatible Headphones & Connector

This 4-core upgrade cable fits Sennheiser HD580, HD600, HD650, HD660S, HD25, HD565 and HD545 headphones. It terminates in a gold-plated 4.4 mm balanced plug. High-purity oxygen-free copper conductors and a pure copper separator aim to reduce transmission loss across thirty strands per core. The 4.92 ft length suits desktop and portable setups.

Installation & Fit

Two variants are offered: a wired ear-hook model that can be bent to a secure angle, and a wire-free model that stays soft for tangle-free storage. Both slide onto the headphone terminals without tools. The ear-hook version may feel stiff until shaped; the wire-free version can slip if the hooks are not seated fully.

Sustained Listening Behaviour

Oxygen-free copper construction maintains consistent signal integrity during long sessions. The four-core geometry with thirty strands per core keeps resistance stable, so tonal balance does not drift as the cable warms. Gold-plated contacts resist oxidation, preserving the brighter, lower-distortion presentation noted in the design brief.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the 4.4mm plug is making proper contact after connecting it to my HD600?

The gold-plated 4.4mm plug should seat firmly with a distinct click; audio should play without static or channel imbalance, and the bass response will sound tighter thanks to the 4-core oxygen-free copper construction with 30 strands per core.

What comes in the box and do I need to buy anything else for my HD650?

The package contains the 4.92ft 4-core upgrade cable with 4.4mm termination and integrated ear-hooks; no additional adapters or accessories are required for HD650, HD600, HD580, HD660S, HD25, HD565 or HD545.

Should I choose the wired ear-hook version or the wire-free version for my HD565?

Select the wired ear-hook model if you want adjustable, secure positioning during movement; choose the wire-free model if you prefer a softer, tangle-free cable that stores easily for stationary listening.
