Die-Cast Push-On Starter Switch

The Battery Doctor PT-WIR20302 is a heavy-duty die-cast push-on starter switch designed for vehicle electrical systems. It provides momentary on/off operation with a water-resistant cover for durability in exposed locations. The unit mounts in a 5/8" panel hole and is supplied in retail packaging.

Rated 16A at 12V for Starting Circuits

This switch handles up to 16 amps at 12 volts, making it suitable for starter solenoid activation and similar high-draw momentary loads. It is not intended for continuous high-current switching or applications requiring a maintained on position. Builders needing a latching switch or higher amperage capacity should select a different component.

Questions about this item

Will the 16 A starter switch work with my existing 12 V battery and ignition wiring?

Yes — the switch is rated 16 A at 12 V, so it matches standard 12 V vehicle electrical systems and can replace a factory push-button starter.

How can I verify the momentary action is functioning once the switch is mounted?

Press the button; the circuit should close only while you hold it and open immediately when you release it — that momentary on/off behaviour confirms correct operation.
