Replacement for Porter Cable 869 9866/F and BN200V12

This 12V 2500mAh Ni-CD battery replaces the original 8623 pack for Porter Cable power tools. It fits models 869 9866/F and BN200V12 directly. The black casing matches the factory look. It arrives new with a two-year warranty.

Capacity and runtime for 12V tools

The 2500mAh rating delivers solid runtime for drills, drivers and similar 12V cordless tools. It handles typical job-site cycles without voltage sag. Heavy continuous draw will deplete the pack faster than lighter intermittent use. Ni-CD chemistry tolerates deep discharge better than some alternatives.

Ni-CD chemistry and charger compatibility

This pack uses nickel-cadmium cells, so it must be charged with a Porter Cable Ni-CD charger. Lithium-ion chargers will not work and can damage the battery. The chemistry also means the pack is heavier than an equivalent lithium unit. Buyers needing lithium runtime or weight savings should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Will this 12V 2500mAh Ni-CD pack run in my older Porter-Cable drill that originally used the 8623 12V battery?

Yes, it replaces the 8623 12V pack and fits models 869 9866/F and BN200V12, so the original tool will accept it directly.

How can I verify the battery is delivering its rated 2500mAh capacity after the first charge?

Charge fully, then run the tool under normal load until it stops; a healthy pack should provide runtime consistent with the 2500mAh rating for that tool.

Does the box include a charger or only the black 12V Ni-CD battery itself?

Only the replacement battery is included; a compatible Porter-Cable 12V charger must be purchased separately if you do not already own one.
