6V 5AH UPS Replacement Battery

This 6 volt 5 ampere hour sealed lead acid battery replaces the SBS640 model in uninterruptible power supplies. It uses advanced AGM technology for maintenance free operation and a 4 to 7 year expected life. The unit is a 100 percent OEM replacement for backup systems.

Gas recombination limits electrolyte loss

The absorptive glass mat system absorbs sufficient electrolyte for steady service and prevents escape from the separator. Gas recombination controls generation and allows over 90 percent recombination during normal use. Sealed construction ensures no electrolyte leakage from terminals or case in any position.

Position free installation simplifies replacement

The non spillable classification meets International Air Transport Association requirements for safe handling. No provision exists for checking specific gravity or adding water during the floating service life. Install in any orientation without leakage risk.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 5AH version even though my UPS originally used a 4AH battery?

The 5AH unit is a direct replacement for the 4AH SBS640 model and provides extra runtime while fitting the same space.

What does the 90% gas recombination figure mean for daily operation?

Over 90% of gas generated during normal use is recombined inside the sealed case, so the battery stays maintenance-free and non-spillable.

How does the AGM sealed construction affect installation options?

The absorptive glass mat design prevents electrolyte leakage from terminals or case, allowing safe operation in any position.
